Here's to sleeping until your eyes open and coffee with too much creamer.

September?
Somehow when I wasn't looking September shaped up to be a crazy busy month!
I kicked off the month with some much needed time with the rents. Labor Day weekend I crashed their little get a way to Loxley, Alabama for a little R&R and LOTS of Labor Day outlet shopping. Mom and I also took a little trek to go check out "Duh" an interiors store I was hoping to see...and it did not disappoint.

The next week I headed off to Charlotte, North Carolina and then road tripped it to Fredericksburg, Virginia for a work trip...
Got home just in time to hop in the car and head north because these precious girls turned one!

Kept the suitcase out and headed to Nashville for another work seminar last week.

which meant I had to miss this guy's 28th birthday. AND managed to put his cell phone in the washing machine before I left town for the week...

but SO thankful the trip didn't cause me to miss this guy in Birmingham this weekend!
I looked at my calendar this morning and realized I have spent NINE days at home during the entire month of September...so looking forward to settling in for a while!

28
― Franklin P. Jones
John absolutely makes it all worth while. I want to celebrate him everyday, but especially today on his 28th birthday. So in honor of John and his special day a closer look at the name of the one I love the most.
Joyful
full of joy, as a person or one's heart; glad; delighted.
Optimistic
disposed to take a favorable view of events or conditions and to expect the most favorable outcome
Huggable
evoking a desire to hug close; inviting a close embrace; cuddly
Nice
simple word yes. but so much more. pleasing; agreeable; delightful, amiably pleasant; kind
Happy 28th year of living life to the fullest.

...just keep swimming...
Last weekend after our rafting adventure the group all ate lunch in Chattanooga. When John and I realized the restaurant was literally three blocks from the Tennessee Aquarium we knew we needed a date with the fishes before heading home. I had never been to the Tennessee Aquarium. What a great place! If you have never been to the aquarium you should jump on your next chance to go! Here are a few pictures from our day at the aquarium!

Weekend Update
If you ever want to feel pretty....really pretty....do the following:
1. wake up at 2:30am
2. do NOT shower or put on any makeup
3. drive for four hours in the dark
4. put on a moldy life jacket and your favorite pair of waterproof shoes
5. MOST IMPORTANTLY....do not forget the helmet!!
(my silly face sure doesn't help...but I felt that the "attire" called for something a little more than your standard smile. agreed? Christmas card '09!?!)
I must confess, typically my fondness of my attire directly correlates with the amount of fun I have. Sad I know. Bratty yes. But let's be honest...attire plays a factor in the activities in which I choose to participate...but my friends I have found the exception. Rafting! I am not a fan of shorts, lifejackets, or helmets but it was so much fun you almost forget how silly you look!
SO I carefully chose a bright yellow helmet so they could pluck me out of the rapids with ease!..this girls gotta plan ahead!
We got to the Ocoee around 8:00 in the morning, and what a beautiful morning it was! I was much more relaxed when I saw our gorgeous surroundings! Honestly the day was way more relaxing than I anticipated!
This guy is always first in line when it's time to jump off a rock or dive in to the water....
AND I think he was pretty happy his chicken wife had the rare guts to join him!

So, to say I had a few reservations about our plans to raft the Ocoee would be an understatement. BUT I must admit, once again John was right and to my surprise I had a BLAST!
We all survived! And all headed to a much deserved lunch in Chattanooga!
