asheville

We took a little road trip!

One of John's very favorite cities is Asheville, North Carolina. Needless to say, he was beyond thrilled when his beautiful cousin Sarah decided she would marry her handsome groom, Eric in Asheville!

Since John's last few visits have been "guys weekends", Libby nor I had ever been to Asheville. We were super excited to make the trip AND have such an awesome (and cute!) tour guide.

Our first night we met John's family and went to Barley's taproom. Super high on John's list of faves. Beer, pizza, guy stuff. Loved finally getting to see what it was all about...but sadly, no pictures!

The next morning our little family went to brunch at a little place called Sunny Pointe Cafe. It had a fun vibe and everything was delicious!

Libby and I had a great time hanging out and talking to John

until THIS showed up...

and it was time for Libby to sit in her first ever restaurant highchair!

Loving a good morning squeeze from Dad

We had a great day playing and shopping in Asheville... and a big nap for everyone before joining family to celebrate Cinco de Mayo at an awesome Mexican spot!

MacMama and Libby singing a Spanish tune (or just being cute)

That evening was the main event! Sarah and Eric got married in Park within walking distance of our hotel. Perfection. AND super ideal when you have stroller in tow.

Our attempt at a little family photo

Everything about the wedding and reception was perfect! The evening was beautiful, and no detail was overlooked. We loved getting to celebrate and catch up with family. Everyone had a fabulous time. Especially Libby, that girl loves a party! She was still on the dance floor with John at 11:00!!

John and I decided to make it a long weekend and stay until Monday which meant more fun in Asheville AND more yummy food! We ate at Wasabi and it was insanely awesome. Seriously. best. ever. I think I even had to go back to the hotel afterwards to recover from my food coma.

Asheville is beautiful, with lots of fun things to do and see. We loved it so much we decided to buy a vacation house so we could have many more weekends there in our future.

Check out our little cottage in the background.

Okay, maybe it's the Biltmore, either way we had a great time touring the incredible house and beautiful grounds.

Thanks Asheville for a wonderful weekend!
